OK, I've heard a few tracks from the new Skinny Puppy, and I'll say this: It's good. But it's not Skinny Puppy. It's not groundbreaking. It's straightforward. The beats, for the most part, are generic. It's a bit overproduced. Ogre never really goes nuts. The difference between old and new Skinny Puppy was especially heightened for me because I spent an hour yesterday separating 'Ain't It Dead Yet' into individual tracks.
If any other band had put this out, it'd be a really good record. But I expect more from Skinny Puppy.
